Jacob Ballas Children's Garden Waterplay reopens with bigger space, interactive features
The Waterplay area at Jacob Ballas Children's Garden has reopened, now featuring a significantly expanded space and enhanced amenities for families to enjoy.
Spanning approximately 500 sq m -over three times its original size - the revamped Waterplay offers children a dynamic, hands-on way to connect with nature while learning about the hydrological cycle through play.
The new design brings environmental processes to life, showcasing the role of plants in transpiration and rain formation.
Interactive water elements, including mist zones, wading pools, and jets with varying spray patterns, encourage exploration and discovery.
Features like umbrella fountains and splash buckets simulate rain while upward-shooting water jets illustrate evaporation.
The Splash Zone, complete with small hills and mounds, demonstrates water run-off as it flows from higher to lower elevations.
Informative signs throughout the area further enhance the educational experience, making learning both fun and engaging.
To ensure comfort and convenience, new changing areas, wash zones and additional seating have been introduced, along with an upgraded drainage system for improved safety.
The Jacob Ballas Children's Garden is open to children up to 14 years old, with the Waterplay area specifically designed for kids aged two to 12.
Adult supervision is required at all times.
