A 15-year-old Japanese girl was hit on the head, then decapitated and had her left hand cut off by her 16-year-old classmate over the weekend, according to CNN.

Aiwa Matsuo was found in her classmate's apartment. The suspect is reported to have lived by herself.

Sky News reports that the victim's parents lodged a report after she did not return home on Saturday after meeting her friends in the afternoon.

The classmate, who was arrested in Nagasaki on her 16th birthday, admitted to killing Aiwa.

“I did it all by myself,” she told police, according to the Japan Times.

The suspect was described by people who know her as “very smart, with emotional ups and downs.”
