JB cops foil drug addict's get-away in hearse, no body on board
High on drugs, a man trespassed near a crocodile sanctuary in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.
That was when he spotted a hearse parked outside and hopped on.
It seems the drug addict was the only person in the vehicle, which belonged to the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council. No body was onboard.
The man in his 20s drove away, with council workers in hot pursuit. The workers had been cleaning the pond in the sanctuary on Saturday afternoon and the driver had left the key in the van.
The council in a statement yesterday: "Our staff tried to chase the man, but he managed to drive away. “We immediately called the police for assistance."
Both the police and the council’s enforcement unit caught up with the van a few kilometres from the sanctuary.
Seri Alam OCPD Supt Abdul Samad Salleh said the man had tested positive for drugs.
