JB police seek man who threatens driver with stick on EDL

Malaysian police have launched an investigation into a road rage incident along the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) expressway heading towards the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex after a video of the altercation went viral on social media.

Johor Bahru South District Police chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, said the investigation was opened following a 27-second video clip that shows a man arguing with another motorist and threatening him with a stick.

"The incident involved a man driving a silver Honda HR-V who was seen engaging in a heated exchange with another individual," he said in a statement on March 12.

"Based on the footage, the suspect was seen intimidating the victim with a stick.

"Police are actively tracking down both men to assist in the investigation,"

The video, which surfaced on social media on March 10, is believed to have been recorded during a traffic jam, though the exact cause of the dispute has yet to be determined.
