Kranji fire under control; structure deemed unstable
A fire broke out at a recycling centre in Kranji on Feb 19, with one person taken to hospital for burn injuries and smoke inhalation.
In an update on their Facebook page after 2pm, the SCDF shared that the firefighting operation was still ongoing and expected to be prolonged.
They had been battling the fire since 10.30am, with six water jets, three unmanned firefighting machines as well as a Combined Platform Ladder deployed to combat the blaze.
At 3.55pm, another update stated: "The fire is under control, but the structure of the premises is assessed to be unstable.
"To minimise risks to responders, unmanned technologies are deployed for the firefighting operation, including four unmanned firefighting machines and an unmanned aerial vehicle.
"Firefighting operations are ongoing to extinguish remaining pockets of deep-seated fires within the premises."

SGSecure mobile app users, M1, StarHub and SingTel mobile subscribers within the vicinity of the fire incident have received an advisory message urging members of the public to stay away from the area.
The fire was reported to be in a warehouse located at 11 Kranji Crescent, and the third reported fire at the address since 2018.
A fire on Mar 22, 2018, took a total of 22 appliances and 70 emergency responders to put out, while a second reported fire in March last year forced 25 people to be evacuated in the early morning.
Traffic has been seen building up in the area, with SCDF seeking the public's understanding to avoid the area and consider taking alternative routes.
