Malaysian teen carjacker not aware of kids in car
A Malaysian teenager arrested for carjacking and abducting two young children on Tuesday, was only eyeing the valuables in the vehicle and did not notice the boys inside it, police said.
The 17-year-old only realised that the nine-year-old and three-month-old siblings in the back seat after driving 5km in the incident in Puchong, Selangor.
He then forced them out onto the roadside by threatening them with a box cutter, reported The Star .
“He said he had no intention of abducting the two boys and didn’t even notice them when he broke into the car. He was only interested in the cash and valuables inside the car,” said Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli.
The teen, who was arrested on Wednesday(June 25) after a tip-off, could be charged as a juvenile for armed robbery and abduction.
