Man with $40,000 gambling debts jailed 7 years for stabbing wife

A 38-year-old man with gambling debts was today jailed seven years for stabbing his wife twice in the chest, and two more times in the back and neck on Aug 11, 2012 at his parents' flat in Clementi.
John Gee Tze Chiang,a Singaporean, had pleaded guilty to attempted culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Burdened with $40,000 in gambling debts, Gee had decided to kill Madam Koh Poh Lian, 36, before attempting suicide that day.
She was later warded in hospital for 39 days.
