Police arrested a man on Tuesday for breaking into a condominium unit at Dunearn Road.
The home owner, a woman, returned home on Tuesday at about 1.30pm to find a man in her unit.
She called the police after the man hurriedly left the scene.
Officers conducted investigations and arrested the 54-year-old suspect later that day at about 7pm.
He will be charged in court on Thursday (Nov 20) with housebreaking.
If found guilty, he can be jailed for up to two years and fined.
Measures to prevent break-ins:
- Ensure all doors and windows are secured with grills and padlocks.
- Keep large sums of cash in banks. Keep expensive jewellery in a safe deposit box.
- Secure all doors and windows before going to bed or when leaving your house unattended.
- Install a burglar alarm to cover the access points into your home.
