Man arrested for vandalising police camera in Marsiling

Police arrested a 41-year-old man on Friday for vandalising a police camera and a notice board.

A member of the public told the authorities on Thursday at about 6.45am that a police camera at the multi storey carpark​​ at Block 29A Marsiling Drive had been vandalised, according to a police press release on Friday.

On Friday at 11.07am, a police officer on bicycle patrol noticed that the residents' committee notice board at Block 204 Marsiling Drive had been vandalised.

Police managed to identify the suspect with the help of video footage from police cameras in the area.

The man was arrested at Block 204 Marsiling Drive on Friday at 2pm.

He will be charged in court on Saturday (Oct 18) for vandalism.

If found guilty, he can be fined up to $2,000 or jailed for up to three years, and will receive between three and eight strokes of the cane.
