The massive truck was carrying an estimated 20 million bees from Florida to Maine.
But the truck flipped on its side on the highway in Newark, Delaware, on Tuesday, CBS Philly reported.
The traffic resumed on Wednesday morning.
“I was loading the car and then I saw bees everywhere,” Mr Mike Gray told CBS.
“I’ve seen eggs and chickens, but never a bee truck flipped over.”
An initial investigation revealed that the driver was attempting to manoeuvre the ramp when the wooden crates shifted causing the flatbed to overturn and strike the guardrail, NBC10.com reported quoting police.
