Missing dog found 5,000km away - that's the distance from S'pore to southern China
A dog that went missing in Philadelphia, US, five months ago has turned up 3,000 miles (4,830 kilometres) away.
That's almost the journey from Singapore to southern China!
The Jack Russell terrier named Gidget arrived at a Portland-area animal shelter - and shelter officers have no idea how the pooch made the cross-country trip.
"It is an absolute mystery to everyone how little Gidget ended up here," said Deborah Wood, animal services manager at the shelter.
"We are just thrilled that she was micro-chipped and that the owner's information was current."
Gidget was brought to the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter in Oregon as a stray earlier this month. But she had been missing since April 22.
Wood declined to name Gidget's owners, saying they were trying to raise funds to bring the dog home. - Reuters
