More thundery showers expected for the rest of February

The prevailing north-east monsoon conditions are expected to continue into the second half of February, with winds blowing mainly from the north-west or north-east.

Moderate to heavy thundery showers are expected in most parts of the island in the afternoon on most days too. The showers may extend into the evening on some days.

Overall, the total rainfall for the second fortnight of February is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.

Daily maximum temperatures can be expected to range from 33 and 34 deg C on most days for the rest of the month.

Subsequently, daily temperatures are forecast to hit as low as 23 deg C on some rainy days.
