M'sian motorcycle thief attacked and stripped naked by angry mob
A 15-year-old boy was beaten and stripped naked by an irate mob after he was caught attempting to steal a motorcycle in Kota Baru, Kelantan, on Tuesday (Nov 4).
The mob attacked the teen, hurting him at the head, body, torso and legs, before police took custody of him at the scene of the attempted theft, a mosque in Binja.
Nude pictures of the boy on the motorcycle have gone viral and have since infuriated Malaysian netizens against the mob.
Photos of the suspect posted on Malaysian Crime Awareness Campaign's Facebook page.
One netizen, "Horrors" aknowledged the boy's offence but said that the posting of his nude pictures was uncalled for.
Kota Baru OCPD Asst Comm Rohaimi Md Isa confirmed that worshippers caught the boy in the act at around 8.15pm.
However, he could not determine who among the group had assaulted the boy.
The boy has been sent to hospital for treatment.
ACP Rohaimi said that the suspect has confessed to stealing the motorcycle and having stolen others in Binjal and Melor with an accomplice.
He added that the suspect was being remanded to help investigations.
