Mum shouldn't have defended son
ROAD BULLYING INCIDENT
FROM READER ACE KINDRED CHEONG
I refer to last week's reports about the road bullying incidents involving Mr Quek Zhen Hao, especially the one in which his mother says of the reactions online: "He's a nobody, why do this to him?" (The New Paper, Feb 6).
I am very disappointed that Mrs Quek failed to understand the seriousness of her son's action and how dangerous it was.
He could have injured and even killed people on the road.
As a parent, it would have been much more responsible for her not to defend him and protest that he was being picked on, but to apologise and tell others who are like him to learn from his experience and change their ways.
