Mum's machete rampage: Grandma has to flee home with grandchild
A grandmother fled her Kuala Lumpur home with her three-month-old grandchild in a bid to save the baby from his knife-wielding mother, reported Harian Metro.
The incident happened around 12.45pm at a house in the Jinjang district.
According to the report on Friday (April 10), the 30-year-old mother was running around with a machete, attempting to hack her husband.
When neighbours entered the house to try and help the bleeding man, the woman threatened to kill him.
The woman reportedly suffers from postpartum depression, which may occur after a woman gives birth.
Neighbour Muhammad Akhmal Zabri, 24, said the husband shouted at the grandmother to escape with the baby.
"The woman then threatened to kill her husband if the baby was not returned to her," he said.
Before things escalated further, the police arrived. The woman was handcuffed and taken to a nearby police station.
