Near miss for woman after axe smashes through windscreen
A woman passenger had a brush with death after an axe crashed through the windscreen of the car she was in.
The car was trailing behind a landscaper's lorry on Route 95 of the Topsfield, Massachusetts portion of the Interstate highway in the US when the unsecured axe flew off the back of the leading vehicle.
Even though the blade broke through the passenger's side of the windscreen, it came to rest on the dashboard with the handle sticking out.
While the woman was rattled by the incident, she escaped unscathed.
The truck driver was fined US$200 ($250) for failing to secure his cargo.
