No , they did not die in ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Reports about a girl from Mississippi and a teen, named Sergio Cardozo, dying after breaking their necks from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge have gone viral after circulating on the internet.
Fortunately, they are both hoaxes.
In one video, two girls are seen preparing to have a bucket of water dropped on them by a man standing above them.
The older girl has confirmed that she and the younger girl are both okay, reports Phishlist, a website that warns against scams.
In the Cardozo case, the International Business Times pointed out that the report originates from Huzler.com, a site that "is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief."
Some websites post such stories as click-bait, to gain web traffic and increase their revenue.
