Doctors remove 5kg stool from man who has been constipated for a decade

Chinese doctors in Chengdu have conducted surgery on a man to remove a 5kg stool from his body.

Just in case you're wondering, we're not talking about something you sit on.

According to the West China Metropolis Daily, the unnamed 27-year-old had previously complained of severe stomachaches and constipation over the last 10 years or so.

After being told by doctors that they could not find the source of his problems over the past decade, doctors from No. 2 hospital in Chengdu finally discovered what was wrong when they took an X-ray.

Diagnosing him with "congenital megacolon", doctors found that the enormous stool had distended his colon to twice its regular size and even caused his heart to move to the right.

Considering his condition lasted 10 years, the man in question is clearly a lucky one, unlike English teenager Emily Titterington.

In February 2013, the mildly autistic 16-year-old suffered a heart attack and died after going through eight weeks of constipation.
