Officials tell man: 'Congratulations, you're pregnant' after drug test
"Congratulations, you're pregnant."
This is what officials in Egypt told a bus driver who had passed his wife's urine sample off as his own during a drug test.
The test is a standard procedure for drivers at General Transport Authority, and the man was one of those who had been asked to take it.
To escape detection, the unnamed driver submitted his wife's urine as his own.
What he didn't know was that his wife was two months pregnant, BBC reported on Tuesday citing Egyptian news website Al-Yawm al-Sabi.
Officials asked the driver to verify that the sample was his before revealing the result.
BBC quoted TV presenter Tamer Amin as saying: "This story despite being funny has several lessons.
"First, that drugs have become available to many and have become as common as cigarettes. This is a calamity."
