One dead, two injured in Marsiling slashing and fire
A man was found dead in a stabbing and fire incident at 4 Marsiling Road.
The incident occurred at about 5pm today (Jan 26).
Two others, a man and a woman, were injured.
Eyewitnesses said the attacker, known as Gemuk to residents, had earlier slashed a 62-year-old man, Mr Abdul Majid Maarof, on the third storey with a parang, leaving him seriously injured.
The attacker then turned to a woman who tried to intervene and slashed her as well.

One resident told The New Paper: "Blood was splattered everywhere."
The victim then ran and hid in a neighbour's unit on the second storey. Residents called the police and ambulance.
The injured man and woman have been taken to the hospital.
The man with the parang was later found dead in a unit on the eighth storey, which was on fire.
Singapore Civil Defence Force had to force their way into the unit, and the fire was extinguished with a water jet. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
