The police have arrested five men, aged between 18 and 41, for rioting at a walkway at Bras Basah Road last Friday.

They are also looking for others who were involved in the brawl and have urged them to report to the police.

It is believed that the fight broke out outside Rendezvous Hotel and involved a group of Koreans and locals. In a statement last night, the police said they received a call at 4.43am that day informing them of a fight at the walkway.

"Officers from Central Police Division as well as Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedics responded to the incident," said the police.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that the patrons of a club located at Bras Basah Road were assaulted in the incident. Three of the victims sustained facial injuries and were sent to hospital."

The officers conducted extensive investigations and managed to arrest five male suspects on Wednesday.

Three of the suspects will be charged in court today.

If found guilty, they could be jailed up to 10 years and caned.

The statement added that a court order will be sought to remand the three suspects for further investigations. Investigations against the other two are ongoing.
