I'm sorry... but you're all cyber ah bengs

This article is more than 12 months old

This was my mistake and has nothing to do with my family.

In his video, Mr Quek Zhen Hao criticised netizens who posted hateful comments about his family and girlfriend.

He also said he had been labelled "rude", "fat" and "ugly".

"All the remarks (online) are extremely hurtful, evil and cruel," he said, claiming that his family had received death threats after the two videos went viral.

"I have discovered I'm in a society that is not gracious enough to confine the punishment to me and instead target my parents, my family and girlfriend.

"I made a mistake and I'm paying for my mistake. The law will catch (up) with me, so you don't have to punish my family for what I have done.

"What I did was wrong and all these are my mistakes. So why post my parents' address and cause them distress? Why post photos of my girlfriend and cause grief to her family?

"My family got death threats and people have gone to my parents' house."

Mr Quek has made a police report on the threats to his family. He also pleaded for netizens to remove the address and photos from the Internet.

Calling netizens "cyber ah bengs", he said: "Is my mistake bigger than all of you such that I deserve more punishment than all of you?"
