Two Certis Cisco colleagues win $100 each
There must be a good luck charm at the Certis Cisco headquarters in Paya Lebar.
Auxiliary police officers Zainal Abidin Mislan and Mohd Shafiq Ganesen Abdullah were surprised to bump into each other at the Singapore Press Holdings News Centre last night.
The men had come to collect the $100 cash prize they each won from The New Paper's Match & Score contest.
Mr Zainal, 36, said: "We didn't know that we had both won even though we both work in the same department."
Both read the paper daily.
For the contest, Mr Zainal buys four copies a day and Mr Shafiq, 42, buys one.
Mr Zainal said he will spend the money on his children. Mr Shafiq intends to use it on a good meal.
There were seven $100 winners yesterday.
One of the winners, Mr Saad Amat, 53, a welder, won two $100 prizes.
Another reader walked away with the $200 prize.
JACKPOT
HAPPY: (Above) Mr Rahimi Assar intends to donate some of his jackpot winnings to the needy.But the biggest winner last night was Mr Rahimi Assar, 55, who is a chauffeur. He won the jackpot of $2,000.
He said: "I was hoping to win on my birthday last month, but I guess winning during the Hari Raya period is a greater blessing.
"I will be spending it on my family and also contributing some of it to the needy."
Today will be the last chance to win in the contest.
Images of football jerseys were printed in TNP from Monday to Thursday, with the jerseys featuring either a number or a country.
New printing technology allows every copy of TNP to include a different combination of jerseys.
These jerseys can be collected to match the winning combinations published in TNP today.
The final jackpot cash prize is $1,000. There will also be combinations for $100 and $200 cash prizes.
Winners must collect their prizes at the SPH News Centre at 1000, Toa Payoh North, between 8pm and 9pm today.
