This article is more than 12 months old

A patient was allegedly thrown out of a government-run hospital in Bhavnagar, north India.

Discovered unconscious by social workers near an open drain, the unidentified man was taken to Sir Takhatsinhji General Hospital on Monday night (Nov 10).

The man was treated in the hospital for severe injuries and infection but was allegedly thrown out by a hospital worker for smelling foul.

Gujarat State Health Minister Nitin Patel has asked for a detailed report from the hospital.

"I came to know about this inhumane incident. This was probably done by some junior doctor. And I've had a talk with the hospital superintendent and have asked for a detailed report. Stern action will be taken against the person involved," he said.
