People continue to pay respects to Mr Lee Kuan Yew at Ang Mo Kio Town Centre

People continue to stream to Ang Mo Kio Town Centre on Tuesday (March 24) to pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew, who passed away on Monday.

Many of those in the crowd were senior citizens. 

Some patiently waited for their turn to pen their condolences, others looked at the display boards which has highlights of significant moments in Mr Lee's life.

 

 

One of those in the crowd was Ms Ng Mui Peng  who was there with her 13-year-old daughter, Joy Phang.

"I feel very sad that Singapore has lost a great leader," said the 40-year-old.

"I pointed to my daughter what Mr Lee has done for Singapore, I think it's important to teach her the history," she added.

Ang Mo Kio Town Centre is one of 18 community sites set up across Singapore where people can pay tribute to Singapore's first prime minister. The other sites are listed here.

The state funereal for Mr Lee will be held on Sunday (March 29) at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore.
