He got off lightly in the murder case.

Now South African “Blade Runner” Oscar Pistorius is set to cash in by writing a book on the night he shot her and the murder trial which followed, Mail Online reported.

Pistorius, 27, was charged with killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp during last year’s Valentine’s Day.

But he was acquitted of pre-meditated murder and charged with culpable homicide instead.

His manager and close confidant, Peet van Zyl, told The Observer that he and the track star had spent the months leading up to his murder trial fleshing out a book proposal.

“He will write his own book,” Mr van Zyl was quoted as saying.

Ideas and concepts

“We’ve discussed it. We’ve talked about ideas and concepts.

“I will sit down with him once everything is done and decide what we are going to do. We have to wait until Oct 13 before we can think about anything.

"After that we will tell the world what we are going to do.”

The book is bound to bring film offers in its wake.

Most importantly, it could help Pistorius raise funds to settle his legal costs which is believed to be huge, considering that he had hired a formidable legal team.
