Police arrest 4 for suspected loanshark activities

Police arrested four people for suspected involvement in loanshark activities on Oct 28 (Tue).
The two men and two women were aged between 22 and 40.
They were nabbed around North Bridge Road, Lower Kent Ridge Road and Woodlands Square.
Officers from Choa Chu Kang Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC) and Woodlands East NPC were instrumental in the four separate cases.
The four suspects will be charged in court today (Oct 30).
Under the Moneylenders Act 2010 (Revised Edition), first time offenders may be fined from $30,000 to $300,000, jailed up to four years and caned up to six strokes.
