Police arrest man for armed robbery in Boon Lay lift

Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Sunday for armed robbery in a lift at Boon Lay Drive.
On May 24, he had robbed a 48-year-old woman of her mobile phone and valuables while wielding a screwdriver.
The man was spotted behaving suspiciously around Boon Lay Drive on Sunday and was arrested at around 11.30pm, the police said in a statement.
He will be charged in court on Tuesday.
For the offence of armed robbery, the man can be jailed for up to 10 years and be given up to 12 strokes of cane.
