Police seek motorcyclist who fled after crashing into pedestrian during Hougang chase

The police told Stomp that efforts to trace the motorcyclist are underway.

A motorcyclist fled from a Traffic Police (TP) check and crashed into a pedestrian during a chase at Tai Keng Gardens in Hougang on Oct 21.

The police told Stomp that efforts to trace the motorcyclist are underway.

Stomper Arul G alerted Stomp to a large police presence near Block 137 Lorong Ah Soo.

In photos shared by Arul, at least eight police cars, one police motorcycle and an ambulance could be seen at the open-air carpark.

The Stomper added that part of the area was cordoned off.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said a TP officer was patrolling along Upper Paya Lebar Road at about 1.15pm when he signalled for a motorcycle to stop for a check.

"The motorcyclist did not comply and instead sped off," a police spokesperson said.

"The officer gave chase and during the pursuit, the motorcyclist collided into a male pedestrian at a footpath along Tai Keng Gardens.

"The motorcyclist subsequently fled the scene on foot."

The male pedestrian did not report any injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
