Popping tiles spotted in Yew Tee again
Marsiling-Yew Tee Council said it is working to resolve the issue.
Remember the popping tiles in Yew Tee from March?
More tiles appeared to be popping up in the same Housing Board estate four months later.
Stomper Randy alerted Stomp to a July 15 post in the Umbrage Singapore Facebook group about tiles popping up at Block 692A Choa Chu Kang Crescent. The post included photos of the dislodged tiles in the first-storey lift lobby between the letterboxes.
A photo of the lift lobby was also posted in the Friends of Yew Tee Facebook group on July 15.

In March, the tiles that popped up were in the lift lobby of nearby Block 691A.
In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for Marsiling-Yew Tee Council said it is aware of the tile dislodgement at Block 692A.
"We are working closely with our contractor to reinstate the affected areas with new floor tiles that match the original in colour and design. The cement screed currently laid serves only as a temporary base layer," said the spokesperson.
"We are carrying out letterbox replacement works in the area. As part of routine procedure, our contractor conducted controlled tests on the tiled areas before commencing the work. During this process, some original floor tiles were dislodged.
"We have taken note of such situations and implemented safety measures to minimise inconvenience to residents."
The spokesperson added that other factors, such as natural wear and tear, material age, and environmental conditions like temperature fluctuations, may also have contributed to the expansion and loosening of the tiles, which could cause dislodgement.
In March, Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC MP Alex Yam had also attributed the popping tiles to age and changes in weather temperature.
When Stomp visited Block 692A on July 19, all the dislodged tiles had been removed but not yet replaced.

The town council spokesperson said: "We appreciate residents' understanding and apologise for the inconvenience.
"The town council remains committed to maintaining a safe and well-kept environment for all."
