Promotions at 23 attractions rolled out for SG60
Discounts and deals at Singapore's various tourist attractions will be rolled out as part of SG60 celebrations to increase people flows and attract more tourists to the Republic.
"We must always connect the world to Singapore, and have people, businesses, and trade flow in and flow through. We will strengthen our position as the world's Global-Asia node and continue to draw people to our vibrant city," Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan said on March 6 in the debate over the Ministry of Trade and Industry's 2025 budget.
SG60 is a nationwide effort to celebrate the next chapter of Singapore's growth after 60 years of independence in 2025.
To boost the number of visitors to Singapore in 2025, a total of 23 attraction promotions were rolled out on March 6.
Backed by these efforts, international visitor arrivals to Singapore are expected to reach between 17 to 18.5 million in 2025, bringing in approximately $29 to $30.5 billion in tourism receipts, Mr Tan said.
In 2024, the Republic welcomed 16.5 million international visitor arrivals, while tourism receipts for the first three quarters of 2024 reached a historic high of $22.4 billion.
This was driven by live concerts by Taylor Swift and Coldplay, as well as international events like the Singapore Airshow.
The new SG60 discounts announced for 2025 will span across different attractions, including Kiztopia, Bird Paradise, Trickeye Singapore and Science Centre Singapore, Mr Tan said.
One of the promotions is for Gardens by the Bay, which will launch an exclusive SG60 Wonder Blooms Pass for citizens and residents to enjoy over 60 per cent discounts on unlimited visits to six upcoming floral displays in the Flower Dome.
Another promotion is for Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which will also offer exclusive deals across its parks from May to August, such as for Bird Paradise, where children can enter free for every paying adult. These deals will be launched on the SG60 website on March 6.
The exclusive homeporting of the Disney Adventure cruise ship in Singapore will also start in December, marking the first-ever Disney Cruise Line ship to homeport in Asia, said Mr Tan.
He added that many new cruise ships will also be calling in Singapore, including Resorts World Cruises' Star Voyager and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's Luminara, from 2025 onwards.
He added that more live concerts have also been planned for the year.
"This year, we already have a few top acts, including K-pop boy band Seventeen in January," said Mr Tan, adding that more acts will be performing in The Republic in 2025, such as Stefanie Sun, Kiss Of Life and K-pop boy band BTS' J-hope.
Singapore's integrated resorts are also set to unveil tourism offerings as part of their expansion plans. These include Illumination's Minion Land, which opened in time for the March school holidays and the Singapore Oceanarium opening later in 2025, which will be three times the size of the current SEA Aquarium.
