Remains of 3 more MH17 victims land in Malaysia

The remains of three more Malaysians who perished in the MH17 tragedy arrived in Malaysia on Sunday morning (Aug 24).

The Star Online reported that the remains of chief steward Mohd Ghafar, Abu Bakar and lecturer Ng Shi Ing arrived at the Kuala Lumpur international Airport (KLIA) Bunga Raya complex at about 8.30am.

After being unloaded from the MAS aircraft, they were loaded onto waiting hearses by soldiers dressed in full ceremonial attire.

After they were loaded on the hearses, a minute of silence was observed at 8.41am.

The Star reported that the remains of the third passenger was collected earlier at KLIA.

The victim was not identified at the request of the family.

Last Friday (Aug 22), a similar ceremony was held when the remains of  20 Malaysian victims were returned to Malaysia. 

MAS flight MH17 was shot down over the troubled region of Eastern Ukraine. All 298 people aboa​rd the flight perished.
