Scoot issues SGAG a crazy Facebook challenge. #challengeaccepted
It was an exciting evening for SGAG and Scoot Facebook fans on Thursday, as one small comment sparked a hilarious Singlish exchange and then an escalating challenge for free tickets on the budget airline.
At one point, Scoot issued humour-mongers SGAG a challenge: Get 10,000 Facebook "likes" on a certain comment and you'll get 20 pairs of ScootBiz tickets to any Scoot destination.
How did this crazy challenge come about?
It all started when Scoot put up a Facebook post with the names of those who had won free plane rides.
Guess whose name wasn't on the list?
The often-trolled birthday boy decided to gift SGAG one pair of ScootBiz tickets (premium cabin, yo.), with a nice graphic reply.
Wait, just one pair? Not enough, lah. SGAG's page has 237,000 "likes", leh. "Your plane so big you give one pair of tickets? We want MORE!"
That's when Scoot threw in the first challenge. 1,000 'likes' for 10 pairs of tickets. #challengeaccepted
Then, eagle-eyed Alisa spotted a loophole.
Scoot didn't back down. It upped the challenge. On boh, SGAG?
Meanwhile, SGAG rounded up the troops
It's almost certain that SGAG will complete the challenge.
But Scoot probably won't be too cut up about it.
The hilarious challenge has won Scoot a lot of online publicity and goodwill.
Props to the social media team at Scoot.
UPDATE: As at 7am Friday morning, the Scoot post has over 12,000 likes.
