Sembawang Sec Sch student filmed sitting in bin while schoolmates kick it

In a video circulating online, a boy in Sembawang Secondary School PE T-shirt can be seen sitting in a green trash bin as his schoolmates surround him.

Laughter and chatter can be heard as the students surrounding the bin kick the receptacle until it toppled over.

Netizens have pointed out how the boy in the bin appeared to be reluctant to participate and could have been the subject of bullying.

Others commented that even if it was a prank among schoolmates, it was rather excessive and that the school should take disciplinary action.

Sembawang Secondary School told Shin Min Daily News that it was aware of the incident.

The school said: "We take the safety and well-being of our students very seriously and will not tolerate any form of harmful behaviour.

"The school has counselled the students involved and given them appropriate disciplinary action.

"The school has also communicated with the parents of the affected students."
