$100 winner to give family dinner treat
TNP Bonus Challenge
For Ms Soon Yeow Teen, who reads The New Paper every day, winning the TNP Bonus Challenge is like the icing on the cake.
Ms Soon, who is in her 50s walked away with a $100 cash prize last night.
"It's my first time winning this type of contest. I have been following the challenge since it first started (a few years ago)," said the avid TNP reader.
The win also came as a wonderful surprise because Ms Soon, who works in the shipping industry, did not expect to win anything.
"If it's meant to be, it will be. At least (the $100 cash prize) is something. I'm really happy," she said.
Unlike some TNP readers who buy extra copies of the paper on Monday (which comes with the Bonus Challenge tickets) to boost their chances of winning, Ms Soon never thought to do so.
"To me, I just thought to try my luck. Since I buy the paper every day, I might as well just match the numbers and see if I win anything," she said, unable to hide the glee in her voice.
When she found out that she had won the prize yesterday, she immediately shared her joy with her son and daughter.
"My son even offered to collect the prize for me, but we realised that the ticket is needed for collection," Ms Soon said.
When asked what she will do with the cash prize, she said: "I think I will give my family a small dinner treat on Sunday."
HOW TO PLAY
Match the numbers on your Bonus Challenge card with the six digits in each issue of TNP from Tuesday to Sunday.
If a vertical row is matched (from top to bottom), players should go to the lobby of the Singapore Press Holdings News Centre in Toa Payoh North to claim their prize by answering a simple question.
Prizes must be collected on the same day between 8pm and 9pm.
The jackpot cash prize stands at $2,000 today.
It will snowball the next day if it remains unclaimed by 9pm.
Other prizes up for grabs include an Airwheel S3 electric scooter and an Airwheel Q5 electric unicycle.
This is the last week for the Bonus Challenge.
