GE2015 Day 1 rallies: The best pics

This article is more than 12 months old

There was plenty of fire and thunder as the People's Action Party (PAP) and Workers' Party (WP) held their first rallies on Wednesday (Sept 2) in the lead-up to this year's general election on Sept 11.

In front of a sea of supporters at the open field in Hougang Central, WP chief Low Thia Khiang hit back at jibes over the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council controversy and accused the ruling party of constantly finding fault with his party.

Over at the Delta Hockey Pitch in Tiong Bahru, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong urged Singaporeans to make their choice based on Singapore's future.

Here are The New Paper photo department's 10 best shots from both rallies as selected by chief photojournalist Simon Ker.
