Mr Chan Chun Sing takes over Mr Lim Swee Say as Singapore's new labour chief today (May 4).

Mr Lim, who resigned from his position as the Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) will be appointed Minister of Manpower.

He added that it is important for the local workforce to be able to maintain its competitive advantage against those from other countries, and the good relationship between the government, labour, and management here remains a unique pull factor for investors.
