RETURN: A 126-member Home Team contingent, comprising 60 officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force and 66 from the Singapore Police Force, returned home late last night. They were deployed to Nepal on April 26 after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the country. The contingent was the Home Team's largest ever deployment for an overseas disaster relief operation. Over the course of the deployment, the contingent conducted search-and-rescue operations, assisted in the heli-evacuation of casualties, rendered medical assistance and provided humanitarian aid.
