Let me prove I'm a natural beauty
Fake or for real?
It doesn't matter where these good-lookers come from, with the limelight comes the intense speculation over whether they have had "the work" done.
It can be especially intense for female personalities.
Some are open about it. Some just simply deny the accusations of having gone under the knife.
Some go out of their way to convince the trolls and snipers.
Beautiful women and men have fought back against those plastic surgery rumours in various ways.
But whose method is most convincing?
Singapore's Arissa Cheo
The latest to prove that her features are not enhanced is Singaporean jewelry designer Arissa Cheo.
Last week, the wife of Taiwanese-American singer Van Ness Wu felt insulted when a netizen called her plastic on social media, amongst other inflammatory remarks about her marriage.
Rather than letting it slide as typical troll-like behaviour, Cheo posted a screengrab of the post and captioned it with a rant.
what kind of a person are u to attack me with all these MADE-UP B******* & LIES?
That's hilarious coz I personally am not even attracted to guys w/ money or have not even been remotely attracted or attached to any other guy but one for the past ten years.
I've NEVER committed ANY of those accusations. go find out the REAL truth before coming at me.
I'm not just gonna take it lying down and let u come at me like that. yes, I'm feisty, yes I'm outspoken, yes I'm straightforward.
Aside from railing against the accusations of a rocky marriage, Cheo decided to set the record straight about her alleged plastic surgery.
On Thursday she posted her dental x-ray (below) on Instagram, to show that her sharp nose was not the result of an implant.
Ms Cheo said that she has had to put up with countless plastic surgery accusations over the years and she has kept silent till now.
She added that she had recently reached saturation point and had to speak out.
"Coincidentally, I'm at the dentist now and I have an X-ray of my face coz I'm getting Invisalign and my nose, which is a little crooked by the way.
There is NO implant in my nose, I have NO fillers in my face, NO fake double eyelids, NOTHING done to my face at all.
But maybe I'll decide to get something done when I'm older? Like a boob job or something once I can deal with the fact that it's gonna hurt like hell? Who knows? I'm not ruling that out.
I'm sorry my features are a little more prominent that the usual Asian. But look at my brothers and parents, they have the SAME features. My brothers and even my cousins have double eyelids and features that are much deeper and sharper than mine. So please, get your facts right."
The rumour mill has been in action since teenage pictures of Angelababy surfaced over a decade ago.
Netizens say there is a stark difference in the Chinese model-actress' appearance now – the most startling change being her lips.
Jaynestars reported that last year, it was her chin that caused controversy.
After an appearance on the hit Korean show Running Man's Chinese Edition, netizens said it appeared to be too pointy and was said to be "unnatural".
Such was the anger over the allegations that Angelababy's management threatened legal action against the defamers.
Angelababy, 26, has even offered to undergo a medical check-up to prove that she is au naturale.
And that she still has the same features as she did in her teenage years (pictured below).

Aesthetics Hub reported last year that she had sued a Mainland plastic surgery center for false misrepresentation after they used her pictures to promote their own business.
In order to stem the rumours, Angelababy presented the source of her looks on Weibo – a picture of her Chinese mum and a Chinese-German dad.
America's Courtney Stodden
There was a lot about the then-teenaged Courtney Stodden to grab the attention aside from her appearance
Being married to a man 34 years her senior being a particular headline grabber.
Stodden's ample assets also drew speculation that the were not real, likewise her made-up before it's time face.
Daily Mail reported that Stodden had televised examinations by the doctors of her face in 2012 and her breasts in 2011.
The verdict? Stodden's face and breasts were real.
Stodden visited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr Marc Mani and he said that she passed tests like being able to raise her eyebrows normally.
He also felt her cheek for implants and looked for scars on her face, and found none.
He concludes: "So I looked at all the areas, Courtney, that might tell someone that you have had plastic surgery and it's pretty clear to me that as a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Courtney has not had any plastic surgery."

It has to be said that that was then.
In 2013 she announced that her insistance on getting her breasts augmented had caused rifts with her ex-husband. He wanted her to stay natural.
She admitted to E! News to having breast implants, hair extensions and lip injections.

Korean actor Lee Min Ho has explained away his alleged plastic surgery by blaming facial swelling.
In Korea, celebrities often remark that their swollen faces are a result of having had too much Ramen the night before.
Drama Fever reported in January that the 27-year-old heart-throb said that his face changes throughout the day.
"I don't worry about suspicions of plastic surgery because I have proof in graduation photos....My face is the type that gets swollen easily.
"People who don't know jokingly ask me, 'Who beat you?' My face is different in the morning and at night too.
"I didn't try to maintain my looks in the past... I didn't go to the dermatologist for 8-9 months. Now, I go occasionally."
Taiwan's Lin Chiling
How do people prove that they are smart?
Some show off their educational certificates that run the gamut of PHDs and Masters.
How did Taiwanese star Lin Chiling prove that she was born with a beautiful face?
She went to the dermatologist, "passed" his exam and produced the certificate that came with it.
Ming Pao reported in 2012 that Lin, was extremely offended when reports alleged that she had spent a bomb on four different facial surgeries.
This came after netizens claimed that her face had become similar to a wax figure.
The 40-year-old actress wrote on Weibo: "I’m really upset now! I am me, with my real nose, real eyes, real breasts and real heart.
"I do not feel the need to nor will I ever get plastic surgery!”
Accompanying her blog post was a certificate from her dermatologist who was apparently willing to risk his 30-year career, confirming that Chiling is indeed a “natural beauty”.
