Man finds 'extra protein' in his cereal

This article is more than 12 months old

A man wrote to Post Cereals Singapore on Facebook after discovering a "crispy yellow lizard" in his cereal on Tuesday (July 28).

Mr Nicholas Deroose said in his post: "I had to throw away the rest of my golden breakfast and seek nourishment elsewhere.

"I hope that you will be able to compensate me somehow so that I may continue to appreciate healthy but fun breakfasts."

Mr Deroose made light of the matter and even joked in the comments section that the lizard was "extra protein".

Other Facebook users, however, took a more serious stance.

Ms Namrata Trivedi-Amarsee wrote: "Please update all of us when issue resolved. I won't be buying any Post Cereals until they clarify how such a huge error occurred."

Ms Vanessa Ho wrote: "This has grossed me out enough that I will never ever eat Post again including my Blueberry Morning now in the fridge. *Silent scream*."

Post Cereals Singapore replied to Mr Deroose on Facebook, saying it wanted to get in touch with him to find out more.

The company told The New Paper that it was investigating the issue, but did not reveal if it would be compensating Mr Deroose.
