Minister: Too early to say if PSLE will be affected by haze
Education Minister Heng Swee Keat said on Thursday (Sept 24) that it was too early to comment on whether the PSLE will be affected by the haze as the exams are still a week away.
The PSLE starts next Thursday (Oct 1) and ends on Oct 6.
The three-hour PSI reading at 8pm on Thursday (Sept 24) hit a high of 317.
The Minister of Environment and Water Resources, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, who was also at the same press conference, said they expect the haze to last till November.
This is due to the El Nino dry season.
He said: "The situation is very dynamic and volatile and we'll be making plans accordingly.
"Because of the El Nino year, we're expecting the dry season to go into November."
