Prata Party: Singaporeans dance for prata
Office workers were caught letting loose and busting some moves — for free prata and teh tarik.
Held at Asia Square on Thursday (Oct 8), "Dance for Your Prata" — a collaboration between The Hidden Good and the National Arts Council — is part of Got To Move, Singapore's first nation-wide dance movement to celebrate the diversity of dance in Singapore.
It was interesting to see how sporting Singaporeans are and how much they love their prata in this unique social experiment.
Some were shy at first but once they found their groove, they couldn't stop stepping to the beat.
Ms Adeline Chan, a student from Mosaic Dance school, was on her lunch break when she heard the music from afar and decided to show off her dance moves.
"It's interesting," she said after. "A different kind of experience, especially for people learning to dance or don't have any experience in dancing."
Her friend, Mr Wee TzeYi, a fellow student at Mosaic Dance, thinks that there should be more of these kind of events in Singapore.
"I do hope that people will not take it so seriously and come on and just have some fun."
