Singapore driver hits five vehicles including police cars in high-speed chase
A 22-year-old man led police on a 13km high-speed chase early Saturday morning.
By the time the chase ended in Chinatown, the man had crashed the red Hyundai Getz into two police cars, a van and two cars belonging to other motorists.
The driver was arrested for traffic and drug related offences, police confirmed.
The driver had "refused to comply with the officers' instructions" during a police operation at Spooner Road at around 4.30am, a spokesman told TNPS.
Without stopping, the car, a red hatchback, sped off towards Pasir Panjang with the police in pursuit.
The pursuit ended at the junction of Eu Tong Sen Street and Upper Cross Street, where the car hit two police cars, another two vehicles and a van.
Police investigations are ongoing and the driver was taken to Singapore General Hospital after his arrest.
He was conscious. No one else was hurt in the incident.
