Teen who drowned at Orchard Parade Hotel could not swim

A teenager from China who drowned at the Orchard Parade Hotel swimming pool on Feb 12 could not swim, a coroner’s inquiry heard on Tuesday (July 21).
He died on the day he arrived in Singapore.
Wu Jintang, 15, who was here on a week-long trip with his martial arts school in Henan, jumped in at the deepest end of the three-metre deep pool.
By the time his friends discovered he was at the bottom of the pool and pulled him out, he was unconscious and without a pulse.
