TKPS pupil grieves over loss of three friends
To 12-year-old Sabrina Lim, her three Tanjong Katong Primary School (TKPS) classmates are special people, not just victims of the Sabah earthquake.
They are friends dear and close to her heart.
Sabrina has been in the same class with two of the victims - Rachel Ho and Sonia Jhala - for the past three years.
Another victim, Peony Wee, was her classmates in Primary 1, 2, 4 and this year - Primary 6.
Sabrina's father, who gave his permission for The New Paper to speak with her, said this was a difficult time for everyone as they knew so many of those who perished as well as their families.
A grieving Sabrina (pictured above) hopes she will get a chance to meet her friends again in another life.
Asked how she was coping with her loss, she said she was "okay".
Here's what she remembers about her three pals - Rachel, Peony and Sonia - and her personal messages to them.
Sabrina said: "Rachel was a very nice girl and an awesome friend who supported me a lot."
You have been an awesome friend, supporting me all the way.
At tuition, you would show me all your items and let me play with them.
When I did not know what to say in tuition you would try to help me.
Hope we meet in our next life.
For now, I know you are safe up in heaven happy.
Thanks for your help.
Sabrina said: "Peony is a very nice girl with a smile on her face most of the time.
"Even when our netball coach scolded her, she still had that smile on her face.
"Once I heard my coach say that she could not get Peony's smile out of her mind."
You are the most cheerful person I have ever met in my life.
I will never forget that smile of yours.
When I meet you in our next life, I hope to see that beautiful smile of yours on your face.
Sabrina called Sonia "an awesome person".
We had a rough start to our friendship.
Only during the last few months did I get to know you better but it was too late.
I got to only enjoy a few months of friendship with you before you went to heaven.
Hopefully in our next life our friendship won't be as rough as this one.
