103 nabbed, $235,000 worth of drugs seized in raid
Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers seized drugs with an estimated street value of more than $235,000 in a six-day raid that ended yesterday morning.
They include about 1.8kg of heroin, 1,462 nimetazepam (Erimin-5) tablets and 454g of methamphetamine or "Ice".
Officers also arrested 103 suspected drug offenders in the operation.
According to a media release, a 43-year-old Malaysian man was arrested at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday after he was found to be in possession of about 1.3kg of heroin, 77g of Ice and 1,000 Erimin-5 tablets.
CNB officers nabbed the first suspected intended recipient, a 60-year-old Singaporean man, at Teck Whye Lane.
The second suspected intended recipient, a 33-year-old man, was arrested at Bencoolen Street along with a 35-year-old man. Both are Singaporeans.
The older man had drugs including 28g of cannabis and a "small amount" of Ice in his possession.
HOTEL
The men led officers to a nearby hotel room where more drugs were uncovered. They include 334 ecstasy tablets, 60g of "Ice" and some Erimin-5 tablets.
A small amount of such drugs were also uncovered when the CNB raided the younger man's home in Woodlands.
A third suspected intended recipient, a 57-year-old Singaporean man, was arrested in Toa Payoh.
From his suspected hideout, officers recovered about 174g of heroin, 57g of Ice and 450 Erimin-5 tablets.
CNB said the drug activities of all those arrested are being investigated.
Those convicted of trafficking more than 15g of pure heroin or 250g of methamphetamine can face the death penalty.
