Bumper crop of 27 winners
Three winners share $4,000 jackpot, taking home $1,340 each yesterday
The New Paper's Match & Score contest saw its biggest crop of 27 winners last night.
Among them were three people who shared the jackpot prize of $4,000, andreceived $1,340 each.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations came early for two of them, housewife Sarifah Abdullah and technician Mohammad Yunus Karim, both 53.
Madam Sarifah said she will treat her five children, aged 14 to 30, to a meal and spend the remainder on the festive season.
Mr Yunus, who is single, said: "I have more than 10 nephews and nieces. I will give them most of my winnings in green packets."
Mr Ong Hwee Hong, 57, who is self-employed, was the third jackpot winner. The father of two plans to spend some of the money on household expenses and save the rest.
The 24 other winners received between $100 and $400 each.
While most were first-time winners, it was second time lucky for retiree Lee Boon Hwah, 65. He won $100 on Sunday and $200 last night.
Images of football jerseys are printed in TNP from Monday to Thursday, with the jerseys featuring either a number or a country.
New printing technology allows every copy of TNP to include a different combination of jerseys.
These jerseys can be collected to match the winning combinations published in TNP from Friday to Sunday.
During these three days, there will be a daily jackpot prize of $1,000, which snowballs if it goes unclaimed for the day.
As jackpot prizes were given out last night, today's jackpot will be $1,000.
The jerseys are valid only for that week.
There will also be combinations for $100 and $200 cash prizes.
Up to $31,000 can be won from the contest until July 10.
Winners must collect their prizes at the SPH News Centre, at 1000, Toa Payoh North, between 8pm and 9pm on the same day.
