Eight hurt as car topples traffic light in Bugis

Eight people were injured in a serious car crash in Jalan Sultan yesterday.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the accident at about 8.15am.

Seven people were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and one to Singapore General Hospital.

Four are understood to be seriously injured.

Photos in Lianhe Wanbao showed a grey car which had crashed into a traffic light and a black MPV that was badly damaged.

The eight people injured include the drivers of the two cars, three passengers and three pedestrians, the Chinese evening daily reported.

One of the pedestrians is a woman in her 70s.
