Fire at Toh Tuck Close; terrace house badly burnt
A fire broke out at a three-storey terrace house at about 8.45am on Wednesday (Feb 17).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) sent a fire engine, two Red Rhinos, two fire bikes, two ambulances and two supporting vehicles to the unit at 28 Toh Tuck Close.
Thick black smoke was seen bellowing through the unit's roof, part of which had collapsed, said an SCDF spokesman.
By that time, two female occupants — a maid and a woman believed to be in her 30s — had evacuated the building.
The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes using two water jets.
The woman was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
