He was unconscious when he was rushed to the Singapore General Hospital at around 5.30am last Wednesday.

Mr Arokiasamy Paul Rajoo, 55, died three days later on Saturday, according to a police news release.

Thennarasu Karupiah, 47, was charged in court yesterday with his murder at Taj Mahal Bollywood Music Lounge in Boat Quay.

Dressed in a blue and white polo T-shirt, Thennarasu was expressionless as he stood in the dock when the charge was read out to him.

He is now remanded at the Central Police Division and may be taken out for investigations.

He will be back in court next Tuesday.
